Our Work

Kerona Scientific is a leading provider of regulatory services to the plant protection, biocides, fertilisers, plant biostimulants and biopesticides industries. We work in partnership with our clients from all over the world on a range of European regulatory projects, from smaller CLP and labelling projects to complete programmes of study commissioning and dossier preparation.

Plant Protection Products

We specialise in providing regulatory services to the plant protection sector. In Kerona Scientific, we are the recognized experts on data matching in the EU.

Our consultants have been involved in the regulation of biocides in the EU since the inception of Directive 98/8/EC. Kerona Scientific also publishes the BPR Vademecum, a user’s guide to the Biocidal Products Regulation (EU) No 528/2012.

CLP Regulation is primarily a self-classification system for companies, using test data available on the mixture, bridging principles or the conventional calculation method.

Fertilisers/Plant Biostimulants

EC fertilisers must meet legal requirements regarding minimum nutritional content, safety and absence of adverse effects on the environment, and as such are allowed to freely circulate within the internal market.

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) requires that a company manufacturing or placing a substance on the market in the EU in quantities greater than 1 tonne per year must register that substance with the ECHA.

Only Representative/Authorisation Holder Services

Non-EU companies may place substances on the EU market by appointing an Only Representative to meet their REACH obligations. For biocides, the authorisation holder must be a legal entity based in one of the EU Member States.

Many people only think of cosmetics in terms of lipstick, mascara, eye shadow and other beauty products. In reality, the term ‘cosmetic industry’ is often used as an abbreviation for ‘cosmetic, toiletry and perfumery’ industry.

Micro-organisms can be used as plant protection products, biocidal products, and plant biostimulants.
